Shopping in Dublin

Dublin City Centre, Co. Dublin

With over 4,000 shops and 10 department stores and shopping centres, Dublin city centre has the largest concentration of shops, choice and value for money than anywhere else in the country. The general trading hours for fashion and footwear are: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat: 9am-6:30pm; Thursday 9am-9pm; and Sunday: 11am-6pm.

The most famous of the shopping streets are Grafton Street, Henry Street, Mary Street, South William Street, Wicklow Street, Abbey Street, and O’Connell Street, to name a few. Each of the shopping streets have their own intriguing histories and architecture so if you’re indulging in your urge to shop, be sure to keep your eyes open. Look above the tempting entrances and take in the restrained Georgian and flamboyant Victorian facades.
