Powerscourt Golf Club is home to two par 72, 18-hole courses. The older of the two, known as the East Course, is considered to be one of the finest golf courses in Ireland. In 1998 it hosted the Smurfit Irish PGA championship and in 2001 was the venue for the AIB European senior tour. The West Course also offers a challenging course. Both courses contain fast greens and hilly fairways, and they are each over 6,900 yards long.
