This inland golf course, which opened in spring 1995, is characterised by lakes at 7 of the 18 holes, laid out to championship standard. It is set in medieval surroundings, with a 13th century tower house next to the 10th tee box. The greens of the course are 90% sand based and the club house is a fully restored 250 year old estate house. The course, with its scenic parkland area, is one which will offer a challenge to any golfer with its mature trees, man made lakes, elaborate fairways and traditional stone walls.
The course was laid out and designed by well known course architect Eddie Hackett and the contoured greens which are 80% sand based are playable all year round.
