The Gap of Dunloe Tour is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of Killarney and to sample the famous Irish ‘liquid sunshine’.
Combining a bus trip to the start of the Gap as far as the legendary breweress Kate Kearney’s Cottage where upon arrival you can decide either to walk the 7 mile journey (taking approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes) or to be taken by jaunting car (pony and trap!) through blissful scenery created at the end of the last Ice Age in Ireland.
After a short break at Lord Brandon’s Cottage where snacks and Irish coffees are served, a traditional style boar will whisk you back to Ross Castle through the three Lakes of Killarney (bring your rain jackets, this isn’t Hawaii!).
