If you are seeking an authentic experience, an experience from which you will walk away refreshed, more cultured and knowledgeable than before and with a love for the land, then you must, must go to Cnoc Suain, Connemara's Centre for Creative Arts & Natural History. Pronounced Knuck-Soon, the Gaelic for enchanted hill, this 17th century hill village offers cultural and educational courses for small groups in the middle of the Connemara wilderness with nothing but the shining of stars and the sound of the wind at night to keep you company in your lovingly restored traditional cottage accommodation.
All the cottages on site have been renovated to 4-star standard so interested parties can participate in week-long residential courses, or smaller numbers can avail of the ongoing courses that offer some or all of the following:
- Introduction to the History & Sociology of Connemara
- Irish Coffee Making
- Bog Walks & Talks on Natural History al fresco!
- Rushwork (Making a St. Bridget's Cross, etc)
- Introduction to Irish Traditional Music
- Culinary Herb Walk & Talk
- Celtic Spirituality & Mythology

And as Cnoc Suain is located in the heart of the wilderness of Connemara, day trips can easily be organised to the Aran Islands, Connemara, The Burren.
