Ireland at a Glance Itinerary

Day One

  • Arrive in Dublin. Check into City Centre Hotel.


  • Visit Guinness, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle, and Trinity College.


  • End with dinner and shopping on the bustling Grafton street.


Day Two

  • Depart Dublin and travel across the rolling plains of central Ireland.


  • En route, you may like to pause to visit the old Johnny Locke’s Distillery in Kilbeggan .


  • In Athlone, visit the nearby 6th century monastic settlement at Clonmacnoise.


  • Overnight in Westport B&B in County Mayo.


Day Three

  • Travel to and expore Connemara for a true taste of Gaelic Culture.


  • Travel through Louisburg, Delphi, Leenane and the majestic Maam Valley to visit the Maam Cross.


  • Stop in the Lough Inagh Valley to see the Kylemore Abbey.


  • Overnight in Connemara B&B and enjoy the local pubs.


Day Four

  • From Clifden, travel south via Ballyconneely with its wonderful golf course, through Roundstone and onto Ballynahinch.


  • You may wish to make the short ferry journey across to the Aran Islands, one of the most preserved and unspoiled places in Ireland!


  • Overnight in Connemara B&B.


Day Five

  • Travel south to Kerry, passing through Ennis and taking the Killimer/Tarbert Ferry which crosses the River Shannon.


  • Drive through Listowel, and continue in a southerly direction until you reach Tralee.


  • Possible visit to ‘Kerry the Kingdom’ exhibition before continuing to Killarney.


  • Overnight in a Killarney Hotel.


Day Six

  • Travel the Ring of Kerry.


  • Stop at all the well known beauty spots such as Lady’s View, Moll’s Gap and Torc Waterfall.


  • Alternatively, you may spend your day at Muckross House in Killarney National Park or trek out to the Gap of Dunloe on horseback.


  • Overnight in Killarney


Day Seven

  • Depart Killarney and travel toward the South East of Ireland--travelling through Mallow and Clonmel.


  • Stop off in the medieval Capital of Ireland for a visit to Kilkenny Castle and perhaps the Kilkenny Design Centre.


  • Last night is in Kilkea Castle or Kinnitty Castle.


Day Eight

  • Depart for the return flight home from Dublin Airport.
